Trip down Hosier Lane

Finally managed to check out Hosier Lane this weekend and was amazed by the way all the layers of random graffiti seem to just “fit”. Nothing seemed out of place – every piece had its own role to play and its own story. To be honest, there were a few other designs on ACDC Lane that trumps these, but really enjoyed checking out these unique pieces of art.

There were plenty of people about: wedding photographers, kids making rap videos, just random people strolling and enjoying the art. This was a good test for me, especially learning about street photography composition. The pictures didn’t come out as well as I wanted, but I guess it’s all a matter of practice.

Well then, enjoy – Saifs

  1. Wow, Saiful, your pics are coming along great. You have a keen eye for street photography, and I love the way you’ve captured so much dramatic Melbourne light. Do you use Photoshop to edit? – Simone

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment Sim 🙂 What can I say, Melbourne is quite a beautiful city, so it makes my job a lot easier! I actually use GIMP (using version 2.4) to edit my pictures (mostly for the watermark) and funnily enough I use the stock standard iPhoto software on my Mac to adjust levels on the photos (mainly for increasing contrast, exposure, and colour level adjustments). But all of that can be performed on GIMP, and it can definitely be performed on Photoshop 🙂
